Detailed description of San Diego Country Club
San Diego Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Chula Vista, California.
The course first opened for play in 1921, before the use of bulldozers, The course archited was William Watson. The course has rolling terrain. William P. Bell rennovated the course adding additional length , new tees and bunkers.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6896 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 6096 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 8, a par-5 that plays to 568 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 159 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 4, a 452 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, a 159 yard par-3.

I have been a member of San Diego Country Club for over 45 years and it is one of the 5 best in San Diego County. I have had the privilege of playing a number of wonderful golf courses throughout the country, and will never forget the experiences associated with those outings. Pine Valley in Clementon, N.J. still ranks as my #1 choice, but I look forward to my weekly opportunities to play my home course.
